We are planning for the 2017 Gala. Please mark your calendars for May 6, 2017 and join us at the Kingwood Country Club for dinner, dancing, fun games, silent and live auctions, and to celebrate the school! Information on purchasing tickets or tables will be available after the first of the year.
Pines is an independent, non-sectarian, non-profit educational institute, and tax-exempt under 501(c)3. Contributions and donations to the Pines Gala allow us to complete projects and provide benefits for our students that fall outside of the normal operating expenditures. The Gala is the school’s largest fundraiser event. Past funds have allowed completion of such projects as: Dinerware for each classroom, dining room furniture and improvements, wooden chairs for the classrooms, new furniture purchases, the Infant Garden (including the pergola), a butterfly garden, adriondak chairs for the doorways of each classroom, staff development projects, Montessori materials for the classrooms, and much, much more! Please consider making an auction donation, advertising, underwriting a portion, or volunteering for the Gala. For your participation you will receive promotional considerations. Please contact Sabrina Padgett at for more information. Donation/Advertising Form.
Ways to Support the Pines Gala:
Donate – Items are needed to build a strong silent auction. Consider a donation of items or merchandise from your business and receive promotional consideration to guests that will attend, and the many visitors to our website and social sites.
Advertise – Just want a spot to advertise in our Gala directory and our website? Advertisment opportunities are available of various sizes and benefits.
Underwrite a table or portion of the event – Want to splash your business logo or family name across a wider area at the venue? For underwriting the gala you will not only receive print and web recognition but your logo will be placed on special signage May 7th and will be announced by the auctioneer as a special underwriting benefactor.
Volunteer – We need volunteers with all talents – decorators, wrappers, planners, organizers, administrators, creatives, artists, and much more! Your ideas, help and support of our schools largest fundraiser is much needed! Please contact to find out how you can help. There are several ways to help and to be involved. It takes a team of volunteers and many donations of giftcards, baskets, services, trip details, and merchandise to make the auction a success.
Each Spring Pines Montessori hosts the ultimate fund raising event for our school. The Spring Gala benefits the school in many avenues and allows us to continue our Montessori mission. We couldn’t have such success without the support of our Pines families and surrounding communities.

Most Likely to Succeed
We recently offered a screening of the award winning film about the future of our educational system, Most Likely to Succeed. Visitors from all over Houston, Pines parents and community, teachers from Houston and Humble schools, and teachers in training from Lone Star Colleges education program all attended. The film incited passionate comments during our panel discussion which followed the film. Thank you to our panel of speakers, Professor of Education at Lone Star College-Kingwood, CaLandra Pervis, international education speaker and author, Dr. Paul Epstein, and professional recruiter, career development trainer RetainAbility’s Founder & CEO, Jane Moughon. Thank you to Chick FilA Fall Creek for sponsoring our event. Lone Star College Kingwood generously offers us facilities and support to present our meetings, thank you Lone Star! We are big fans of yours, you do amazing things within our community!
For most of the last century, entry-level jobs were plentiful, and college was an affordable path to a fulfilling career. That world no longer exists. The feature-length documentary Most Likely to Succeed examines the history of education, revealing the growing shortcomings of our school model in todayʼs innovative world. Directed by acclaimed documentarian Greg Whiteley, the film has been named “among the best edu-documentaries ever produced” by Education Week, and called a “smart and engaging look at education in the 21st century” by The Hollywood Reporter. Film Threat stated that “this film should be a required course for all parents and educators.” Most Likely To Succeed is an official selection of many of the nation’s top film festivals, including the prestigious 2015 Sundance Film Festival and Tribeca Film Festival.
We offer opportunities, through out the year, to visit our school, find out more about the Montessori method, and how we excel at education. To find out more please call (281)358-8933 or email
