Extended
Care Program
Pines Montessori School offers Extended Care (before and after school) to currently
enrolled students. Our three extended care classes (one for
toddlers, one for primary children, and one for elementary children) offer students a relaxed environment
in which to engage in free play, arts and crafts, story time, and
enriching group interactions.
Our
goal is to establish a warm, nurturing atmosphere that offers creative,
stimulating, and enjoyable activities for the children. Materials
in this environment include quality toys, art materials, dress-up
clothes, blocks, games and puzzles. While the classroom materials
are not typical of a Montessori classroom, the program is consistent
with Montessori principles: freedom of choice in activities is bounded
by the responsibility to make positive, healthy, and safe choices
individually and as a group.

and possibilities for movement activities, other indoor games and
activities, and story reading. An afternoon snack is provided.
