Board Information
- The Pines Educational Assistance
Corporation (doing business as Pines Montessori School) is a
non-profit corporation and is managed by a Board of Directors
(the "Board" hereafter).
- Directors are elected by vote of the Board and
serve three year terms.
The terms of Directors are staggered to ensure
all of them do not stand for reelection in the same year.
The Chair presides at all meetings of the Board
and performs other duties as assigned by the Board.
Directors can succeed themselves without
limitation.
Committees can be appointed by the Chair for
special purposes (e.g. Board Nominating or Budget Committee).
- The Board delegates day-to-day operations of
the school to the Head of School.
Therefore, Board members do not address issues unless they are
first brought to the attention of the Head of School.
- The attendees at Board meetings
are the members of the Board, the Head of School,
the Financial Advisor, the Level Coordinators,
and the President of the PCO.
- Meetings are conducted according to the Agenda
prepared for the meeting and Minutes are kept by the Secretary.
- Parents, faculty and staff members of the Pines
are welcome to attend Board meetings. Please call the front office at 281-358-8933 prior to the board meeting if you wish to be put on the agenda.
- The Board normally meets every four to six
weeks. The
